Recent advances in manufacturing industry has paved way for a systematically deployment of Cyber-Physical Systems, within which information from all related perspectives is closely monitored and synchronized between the physical factory floor and the cyber computational space. Moreover, by utilizing advanced information analytics, networked machines will be able to perform more efficiently, collaboratively and resiliently. Such trend is transforming manufacturing industry to the next generation, namely Industry 4.0.
As a part of 4th Industrial revolution, College of Engineering Roorkee is committed to develop the skills in its engineers like attention to details, analytical thinking, problem solving, working with digital interfaces, information management through tracking and monitoring and so on which are the fundamentals in getting an entry into industry 4.0.
The key path to such objective lie in a single phrase that is Centre of Excellence (CoE) which will have its positive effects on the employability of students in core industries , helping students become entrepreneurs, help in handling social responsibility, improving the corporate structure, finding solutions related to disaster management, renewable sources of energy and energy efficiency management. It will also enhance steps taken for environment betterment and will change the rapid growth of industries and will also initiate new ideas and creativity for betterment of the society.
CoE is a capacity centre with state of art facilities and infrastructure in collaboration with internal and external domain experts under one roof. Its benefit is that we provide students as well as industry people to undergo industry oriented capacity building so that people can walk in pace with the new advancement of technology that is observed at a fast rate in today’s scenario of the industries. It has benefitted a lot of people in past and will definitely benefit more people in future as a gateway for transfiguring technologies into actuality.
